About the team

Where we're coming from

The whole adventure began when the Dumpling Investment crew restored a beautiful old house from the early 1900s. We realized quickly that the house needed some stained glass to accent its features, but purchasing most custom pieces were way out of the budget. Luckily, passed down through the family was a large tote of beautiful stained glass and some beginning supplies. The tote waited patiently for years to be inherited by the right person, and it finally found its home; right in a cozy garage in Greenwood.

Shelby, the main glass artist began the quest of making majestic stained glass transoms and windows for the old house. After many hours of reading, watching videos, and making a mess of the garage workshop, she developed a good feel for how to make the art she wanted. By the time the pieces were finished, the idea for Dumpling Glass was born! After about a year, Shelby's husband began to feel left out, and immediately developed a knack for cutting the glass. So now, we enjoy our time together in the garage crafting pieces with soul and personality.

More recently, we decided to take the plunge into working with fused glass along side of stained glass. This has exponentially expanded the possibilities of what we can do and we are learning a little more about it each day!

Where we're going

Our main focus is bringing beautiful glass art to those of all budgets. In the past, stained glass has been known to be giant and expensive, making it a luxury you only see in churches and expensive homes. However, we are trying our hardest to make our glass art affordable to everyone. Not only do we take a lot of care drawing up beautiful designs that we can make more budget friendly, but we are also exploring other methods in glass art to keep things interesting. By incorporating fused glass into our work, we have been able to create smaller and more detailed glass art while keeping the prices lower too! We are hoping to combine the worlds of stained and fused glass for even more unique and fun glass art! Through staying open and honest with everyone we work with, we hope to bring joy to as many homes as we can for many years!
